Welcome Friends!
I’m Ashley, a mom of two kids ages 5 and 2, and native Floridian who grew up going to all the best Florida theme parks. When my husband and I decided to take our first family trip to Disney (which has changed immensely since we were kids) I quickly realized how much rigorous planning and research a great trip was going to require. As a tried and true Type A personality, I wasn't interested in handing over control of my vacation to a travel agent. So I began looking for tips and tricks online and even though there seemed to be an endless amount of information out there, many popular blogs and social media accounts weren’t tailored to taking young kids to Disney and many lacked practical planning tips. I’m sure some people out there are dying to know what crazy purple concoction they rolled out for the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, or the what the world record is for riding the People Mover in Tomorrowland, but truthfully that did nothing to help me. I needed to know how to get the most amazing memories out of an expensive trip with 2 young kids, while also somewhat enjoying myself. I didn’t want to go home feeling disappointment or regret, just satisfaction that we “did Disney right”.
After visiting approximately 5,937 websites, watching 347 YouTube videos, and reading 659 Reddit and Facebook forums, we took our trip. Luckily, there was a lot we did right, but we also learned a lot of lessons on what we could have done differently to have more success.
Soon after we returned, Disney announced their annual pass memberships were becoming available after being closed for 2 years due to the pandemic. We knew we wanted to revisit the parks, and redo it better than before, so we took the plunge. We’re a couple years in now as Annual Passholders and have countless visits under our belt. Each trip coming with their own takeaways.
Naturally, we began sharing our experiences with many of our friends taking their families on Disney World vacations. After a specific one hour+ long call helping a friend plan her Disney vacation, I realized how much valuable information I had stored in my brain. I didn't have a desire to be a travel agent, but why not put all these tips down so other parents could easily find what they really need to know? Soon after, All So Wanderful came to fruition.
My hope is that All So Wanderful gives confidence to parents turned trip planners everywhere and helps you make the most “wanderful” memories no matter the needs of your family.
